My wife of 43 years died from cancer 3 1/2 years ago. Living alone has been difficult for me ever since. While I've prayed regularly that the Lord would bring a woman into my life again, the prayer has not been answered. Perhaps I have not been proactive enough, which is why I decided to try this dating site. I'm a retired quality control analyst who worked for W L Gore for 20 years. I'm originally from Indiana but my family and I moved, in 1984, first to Albuquerque and eventually to Flagstaff. During my career I have worked in various manufacturing settings. I also served as a pastor for 5 years in New Mexico. I graduated from Indiana State University with degrees in sociology and political science and completed a year of graduate study in sociology. I completed course of study school at Perkins School of Theology (SMU) in preparation for my pastoral service. I am also an Air Force Vietnam era veteran. I decided to check out this website to see what possibilities may exist for me as the Lord may have determined that I'm not doing enough to help myself. I am looking for a woman who I can connect with in a relationship that could eventually lead to marriage. Being married most of my adult life, living as a single person is an anomaly for me that I would like to leave behind. I am also looking for someone who can put up with my occasional sense of humor since I feel like life is too short to be serious all of the time. Since I have been a widower, I have found myself to be more of a homebody who is occupied with taking care of my house and related chores. My social life has revolved around my church activities since I serve a Lutheran church as an elder and as the chair of the church leadership team. I'm currently trying to teach myself to play a keyboard. While I'm not very good in the kitchen, I try to eat healthy food and I do exercise every day so that I can stay out of the doctor's office! Hopefully, this brief sketch about myself will provide enough information for someone to determine whether they would like to contact me. I must confess that I'm not overly computer literate and I generally don't spend a lot of time on my desktop computer during the day.
